Sarasota was ranked the best small cities in Florida and in the top 4% of small cities in the United States by WalletHub.  The findings will probably not come as a surprise those who already live and work in the area, and the breadth of new projects including apartments, condos, hotels and retail will provide an ever expanding option for living, visiting, shopping and eating in this jewel along the Gulfcoast of Florida and just an hour’s drive south of Tampa.

Completion of the Tampa Riverwalk through downtown and new transportation options including water taxis and ferries mean more options for entertainment and experiences that will attract a diverse crowd of all ages.

Now that Tampa’s Riverwalk is completed and connects the History Museum with The Heights area, the next phase will be for more dining/drinking options to open up.  The Riverwalk is an amazing amenity for the region, and once there are more options to relax and enjoy a drink or grab a bite to eat, it will really activate the the entire riverfront.

DR Horton recently lost a $16.3 million judgment regarding their Majorca Isles condo development in Miami Gardens, Florida. DR sold 355 of the planned 681 units in the project as was found negligent in operations of the Master Association of the community.

New independent drugstore, café coming to Seminole Heights in November

Mortar & Pestle will bring back the drugstore soda shops of yesteryear with a modern twist when it opens next month.

Seminole Heights, the hot hipster neighborhood in Tampa, is getting ready to welcome another new tenant to the area. Mortar & Pestle is a drugstore soda shop currently under construction at 6308 and 6310 N. Florida Ave. One part of the property is new construction and the other part is renovation of an existing historic bungalow. When it’s done, the 3,920-square-foot space will house an independent pharmacy and café.

 

The property is expected to open in November 2016.
